Chevrolet released details and pictures of the updated 2015 Cruze ahead of its debut at the New York International Auto Show. Turned out the Cruze has to be content with a mild facelift for now, and this new-face model we saw in China is still some way off, at least for America.

2015 Chevrolet Cruze comes with revised styling, inspired by the all-new Impala and restyled 2014 Malibu, to look closer to other Chevy sedans. The main highlights of the exterior include dual-port front fascia and LED daytime running lights.

The interior is changed too, but we’re not sure if revised cupholders, relocated trunk release button, and relocated door lock switches actually count as upgrades.

All in all, 2015 Chevrolet Cruze appears to be updated in a very disinterested way. It’s like GM just didn’t care much about it, which is ironic, because the Cruze is one of their best-selling models ever. The car does, however, get the latest OnStar 4G LTE with built-in Wi-Fi hotspot, which is cool, along with Siri integration and Chevrolet AppShop, all accessed via a seven-inch main display.

As before, the new Cruze puts a lot of emphasis on economy with Cruze Eco (EPA-rated 42 mpg highway) and Cruze Diesel (EPA 46 mpg highway). In terms of safety, the Cruze comes with 10 standard air bags – including side-impact and knee air bags for front passengers – and offers side blind zone alert, rear cross traffic alert, rear park assist and a rearview camera.
