Citroen reveled today the first pictures and details of their new China-only SUV, the DS 6WR. It is a silly name, but then they also have a China-only sedan called the DS 5LS, so it kinda works. Citroen DS 6WR, which everybody thought was going to be called DS X7, is the production version of the Wild Rubis concept car.

The 6WR inherits a lot of its styling cues directly from the concept car, which is why it look rather interesting. True to the DS philosophy, the car features wild yet sophisticated lines in its body which give it a unique look. Measuring 4.55m long, 1.86m wide and 1.61m tall, with a long wheelbase of 2.73m, the 6Wr is a fairly compact SUV riding on 19-inch wheels.

Citroen DS 6WR will launch with e-THP 160 and THP 200 powerplants are mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox and feature sequential direct injection with a high-pressure pump and a twin scroll type turbocharger. It also gets Grip Control, which is an advanced traction control for all types of terrain.

To be unveiled at the upcoming Beijing Auto Show, Citroen DS 6WR will become the third Citroen DS to be launch in the Chinese market following the DS5 and DS 5LS. There is a fourth locally-built model planned, to be unveiled in the coming months.
