Citroen released the first official details and pictures of a facelift version of the DS3 and DS3 Cabrio. Available from July, the new-look DS3 has one big highlight and that is some high-tech headlights it’s rocking, featuring LED and Xenon modules.

The lights on the Citroen DS3 Facelift are inspired by those of the Numéro 9 and Wild Rubis, and apart from offering exceptional lighting performance, give the car a distinctive look at the front. What’s more, the LED/Xenon combo is very energy efficient, consuming 35% lower in dipped mode and 75% lower in high-beam mode, and has a much longer lifetime (20,000 hours).

As for the changes with more substance, there are two new Euro 6 diesel engines including the BlueHDi 120 and BlueHDi 100. The former is rated at 94g/km CO2-wise and the latter only 78. Some markets also get a new PureTech e-VTi 82 ETG petrol unit with 69mpg and 95g/km.
