The first images of the Volkswagen Amarok Power Concept have hit the web ahead of the car’s official debut at Worthersee meeting 2014. It is an updated version of last year’s concept and hints at VW’s intention to launch a sporty, powerful version of the Amarok pickup truck.

The new Volkswagen Amarok Power Concept looks all buffed-up and muscular thanks to a sporty body kit, lowered ride height, and 22-inch wheels. The truck is wrapped in grey foil accented with orange, and features bi-xenon headlights with chrome inserts and chrome-plated twin tailpipes.

Inside the cabin “power orange” nappa leather and black Alcantara covers the steering wheel, bucket seats and door panels a silhouette of the Amarok is lasered below the headrest. Being a tuner truck, the Amarok Power is also fitted with a kicking sound system.

The engine in the Volkswagen Amarok Power Concept is the standard V6 TDI common-rail diesel. That kind of spoils the point of calling this truck “Power”, but with 600 Nm of torque it can still get out of its own pay pretty good. 0 to 100 km/h in dealt with in about 8 seconds and the top speed is 210 km/h.
