It is usually the showroom personnel who are charged with the job taking the car out of the lot and on the driveway for the customer to pick up. But Tesla employees decided to let a customer do this, and, well, it went terribly wrong.

The customer was apparently so giddy to take his brand-new Tesla model S for a spin that he floor it right out of the showroom and hit a Tesla sign in the gravel pit outside the shop. This is probably a world record for the fastest crash of a new car ever!

It does seem funny from our point of view, but imagine how the poor guy felt like when he saw the front of the car after the crash. Tesla Model S is a futuristic car alright, but it has normal accelerator and brake pedals. It’s not like you drive it with hand gestures. Still, confusing the pedals is not an uncommon occurrence, especially with older people.

The crashed Tesla Model S was reportedly reversed back into the dealership to be repaired.
