Yesterday Mercedes-AMG released another teaser for the upcoming AMG GT sports car, and like most their previous videos, it has to do with the car’s amazing engine. This time they talk about the exhilarating performance that results from combining a 500-hp V8 with a lightweight body.
AMG engineers promise insane acceleration and just the right amount grip to let you have fun with the car. The twin-turbo 4.0 liter V8 used in the Mercedes AMG GT constantly provokes you for “pedal to the metal action.”
It’s all jolly good, but the question we need answered ASAP is if Mercedes AMG GT is a proper rival for the Porsche 911. Is it as good a driver’s car as the mac daddy of sports cars the world over? If it is, then Mercedes has accomplished an amazing feat. If not, they can still rely on AMG GT’s sexy looks to sell.
