Chevrolet announced the official pricing for the 2015 Corvette Z06 coupe and convertible models, and in true American muscle car fashion, they are amazingly affordable, at least by European sports car standards. Where else than America can you buy a 650 horsepower speed machine for just $78,995?

That is what a brand-new 2015 Corvette Z06 hardtop costs. If you want the sexier convertible, that will cost you $83,995. If excited by the good value for money these cars represent, you decided to spec them up a bit, there is a $2,995 Carbon Fiber Ground Effects Package and a $7,995 Z07 Performance Package.

The Carbon pack adds a functional carbon fiber front splitter, carbon fiber rocker panels and a larger rear spoiler, while the Z07 kit includes Brembo carbon ceramic-matrix brake, adjustable front and rear aerodynamic components, and Michelin Pilot Super Sport Cup tires.

2015 Corvette Z06 is powered by a supercharged 6.2L V-8 engine rated at 650 horsepower (485 kW) and 650 lb-ft of torque (881 Nm).
