The new RS version of the Porsche 991 GT3 is being gradually revealed in the weirdest ways. Our very first look at the car was through pictures of a leaked scale model. Now a couple of leaked patent photos emerge, offering a better look at the details of the German supercar.

The eagerly-anticipated Porsche 991 GT3 RS appears to be taking things up a notch compared to its predecessors. Typically, the RS version is a slightly lightened, slightly hotted-up version of the GT3 a silly wing and paint job. The new model, though, appears to be a bit more serious than that.

The 991 GT3 RS benefits from substantial aerodynamic modifications compared to the standard GT3, including lager splitter and diffuser units, a double bubble roof, and a racing style rear wing. The aggressively flared wheel arches suggest the RS also boasts fatter tires.

Frankly, Porsche 991 GT3 RS needs to something extraordinarily good to wipe off the bad memories of burning GT3s from people’s mind. Packing more fire power and boasting a lightweight body, the RS could give Ferrari 458 Speciale a good run for its money when it finally arrives in early 2015.
