The guys from Evo Magazine staged another one of their famous drag battles to see if the fastest car to have lapped the Isle of Man TT circuit is a match for a full-blooded sports car in straight line. We are of course talking about the new Subaru WRX STI and the Jaguar F-Type, the V6 S variant.

Granted, may the base V6 version of the F-Type would have been a closer rival for the STI. But then again, the Subaru is four-wheel-drive and that Jag isn’t. So it all works:

Regardless of the result, the performance of the 2015 Subaru WRX STI is admirable. The combination of a flat-four and one of the best performance-oriented four-wheel-drive systems ever built gives this sports sedan enough confidence to take on the big boys. It still loses, but it loses with its head held up high!
