New South Wales police department in Australia released studio images of their brand-new Porsche 911 (991) cop car. This of course is not the first time Porsche Australia has been kind to the Police force. A few years ago they supplied them with a Panamera patrol car.
The new Porsche 911 police car will be used by NSWPD’s Harbourside Local Area Command as a “community engagement vehicle”, meaning it is basically a show car, to be used on events like school meetings or charity fundraisings. It will help the law enforcement to generate positive interactions between police and the community.
So if you are an Aussie criminal operating in the New South Wales area, rest easy that this Porsche 911 will not be used to chase you down. It is too expensive for that, even though save the livery and the lights bar it is a standard Carrera 2 model. Come to think of it, even if it was a patrol car, the 911 would be easily outgunned by the beefed-up V8-powered Fords and Chevys that most Australians use as daily drivers.
