BMW M4 CSL Rendered with i8-Like Features

BMW M4 CSL 600x321 at BMW M4 CSL Rendered with i8 Like Features

It is not exactly a secret that BMW is very fond of making special editions version of their M cars. The last-generation M3 E90, for instance, used to spawn a special edition almost every other week. So it’s a given that over the next few years we are going to see many different versions of the new M3 and M4.

Here’s an speculative rendering of BMW M4 CSL; a hard-core, lightweight, track-focused version of the sports coupe that actually has almost no chance of production. And it’s not because of those crazy i8-inspired body panels the designer has used on this car. BMW uses the CSL badge once every few decades and on something really really special.

BMW officials have in fact confirmed there are no plans whatsoever for a new CSL version of the M3/M4. But if you are a fan of lightened, extreme M cars, do not despair because the word is BMW is already working on a couple of M4 including a GTS version which is very close in concept to the CSL. It will lighter, tauter, and definitely faster than the standard M4.

And if you cannot wait for that one either, make sure you check out this Lime Rock Edition M4 quietly released in America a few weeks ago.
