Last Mustang 50 Year Edition to be Auctioned for Charity

Mustang 50 Year Edition 600x353 at Last Mustang 50 Year Edition to be Auctioned for Charity

It is usually the first production unit of a new or special edition model that goes under the hammer for a good cause. But with the Mustang 50 Year limited edition Ford decided to auction off the very last one, because it will be carrying badge No. 1,964, which is the year the Mustang was born. So it is kind of an homage to pony car.

The last Mustang 50 Year edition will be auctioned by Barrett-Jackson, with all proceeds going to Get Your Heart Racing, a fundraising event supporting Henry Ford Health System’s Edith and Benson Ford Heart & Vascular Institute. The winning bidder will also receive a VIP package to the Ford Championship Weekend at Homestead-Miami.

Ford Mustang 50 Year Edition comes with unique exterior and interior appointments inspired by the original Mustang. Some of the highlights include a bespoke retro grille, louvered rear quarter-windows, and Wimbeldon white paint job.

This auction is part of the annual Get Your Heart Racing program to raise funds for the Edith and Benson Ford Heart & Vascular Institute at Henry Ford Health System. Last year, Get Your Heart Racing auctioned the “movie-star” Mustang that appeared in the movie “Need for Speed”.
