The chip specialists at Mcchip-DKR have manages to unleash the real power of the 2.0 liter TFSI engine in the SEAT Leon Cupra 280. This hot hatch is one of the fastest front-wheel-drive cars in the world in standard form. DKR’s version, then, must be a giant slayer.
By simply altering a few lines of codes inside the car’s main computer, Mcchip-DKR has extracted from the SEAT Leon Cupra an extra 62 horsepower and around 60 Nm more torque. That is a huge gain for the treatment and brings the total output of the car to 342 horsepower and 444 nm of torque. And these are dyno-tested figures.
Performance figures have not been revealed for the Mcchip-DKR Leon Cupra, but the standard 280 horsepower model goes from zero to 100 km/h in just 5.7 seconds and has a Nurburgring lap time of 7:58.4 minutes which, until Renault’s new Megane Trophy came along, was a world record for front-wheel-drive cars.
With 340 horsepower on the tap, this Leon Cupra should be able to hold its own against some serious sports cars.
