2016 Acura ILX Teased for L.A. Debut

Acura is gearing up to unveil a new ILX sedan at the next Los Angeles Auto Show. Even though they say the car is “substantially new,” chances are it won’t be that different from the existing models. Acura sedans have a very predictable design.

2016 Acura ILX will continue to pursue the car maker’s rather unambitious goal of gradually reducing the average age of their customer base. Their new goal is to bring it down to under 35 and that is why they have given the ILX a forceful and sporty new look, more potent powertrain, and substantially upgraded interior design.

Getting sportier and sharper does not mean the 2016 Acura ILX will compromise on the brand’s core values regarding comfort and convenience. The car will be first and foremost a plush luxury sedan with an comfy ride and plenty of features, including cutting edge safety gear.

No doubt the new Acura ILX is going to be a good car. But it is kind of hard getting excited about Acura’s products. Maybe the new NSX super car can stir things up a bit, but that is still a long way off in the future.
