The open-top version of the Ferrari 458 Speciale, known as Speciale A (Aperta), made its motor show debut in Paris today. To be honest there isn’t much in the Aperta to get excited about, since it’s a mix of two of Ferrari’s existing models. But hey, it’s a new Ferrari and therefore worthy of your attention!

Here’s an up close and personal look at the Ferrari 458 Speciale A. See that uniquely shaped front bumper with a tiny lip and extra ducts on the side? These elements work in tandem with the opening in the bonnet to generate downforce. in the Specaile form definitely does follow function:

And here’s the official Ferrari 458 Speciale A promo clip released by the auto maker. It’s not very interesting to be honest, but it’s pretty short so give it a spin:

Speciale A is powered by the most powerful naturally-aspirated road-going V8 engine ever built by Ferrari. It generates 605 horsepower and 540 Nm of torque, which translates into a 0 to 100 km/h time of 3.0 seconds and a Fiorano lap time of 1’23”5. The car also features the amazing Side Slip Angle Control (SSC) which is basically a drift mode, like in a video game.
