There is a video of Jules Bianchi’s crash now available on the web, shot by an spectator, showing how freakishly odd and how horrendous it was. The footage is rather disturbing to watch, so viewer discretion is advised.

The 25-year-old French driver of Marussia F1 lost control of his car in the same exact spot where a lap before Adrian Sutil had crashed into the barriers. Bianchi hit the tractor that had come to pull Sutil’s car out:

Jules Bianchi’s crash has raised a lot of controversy about FIA rules and the fact that there shouldn’t be a race when there is a monsoon going on. They have also come under a lot criticism for not deploying the Safety Car sooner to prevent the second crash at that spot.

Bianchi was taken a hospital unconscious with severe head injury. The latest reports say he is now stable, but not out of the woods yet. The world of motorsport has dealt with enough deaths and injuries this year. Hopefully Bianchi will pull through.
