Thinking Ahead: Next-Gen Audi R8 GT3

The world is waiting with bated breath to see what Audi has in store for the next-generation R8 super car. We know what it’s going to be like mechanically, but styling-wise the car can still surprise us, even though the company’s officials have said the next R8 will feature an evolutionary design.

So while we were thinking about the normal, road-going R8, visionary designer Jpn Sibal went further than that and came up with a rendering of the next Audi R8 GT3 race car. As one of the most successful race cars of its generation, the R8 GT3 is a car that matters a lot and will surely be getting a worthy successor. We don’t know about the technicalities, but if it looks anything like what we see here, we’re going to judge it worthy enough!

Looking like something out of a science fiction movie, Sibal’s Audi R8 GT3 features unique aero parts including a huge front splitter with box-shaped intakes adorned with little winglets, fender extensions, side skirts, sort bonnet, rear diffuser, and a one of a kind rear wing that looks very cool but probably isn’t very efficient in terms of aerodynamics.

We know that the next generation Audi R8 is getting a hybrid and an e-tron variant. A fusion of these systems might make its way to the racing car as well. Audi already has a hybrid Le Mans race car and it makes perfect sense let the GT3 join this club as well.
