After a drastic price cut and some profound upgrades gave the sales of the Dodge Viper the jolt it badly needed, the company realized the only way to keep the momentum is to keep updating the car. So they announced the launch of the 2015.5 model with a host of new features.
You won’t be able to spot the differences between the 2015.5 Dodge Viper and older models with naked eye, but if you read the spec sheet carefully you realize the GTS model is now richer in content, boasting Laguna leather seats, Alcantara headliner and Harman Kardon 18-speaker sound system.
Then there is the Viper Time Attack (TA) version 2.0, which builds on the success of the first TA as the track-focused version of the sports car. It comes with upgraded high-performance Aero Package, competition rear spoiler and front lower dive planes for increased downforce and improved handling on the track.
The engine and transmission have not changed in the 2015.5 Dodge Viper. You still get the 8.4-liter V-10 engine and Tremec six-speed manual transmission, which is a rather outdated combo, but a characterful one. As for the prices, the base Viper can be obtained for $84,995; the TA 2.0 runs for $101,995; and the GTS costs $107,995.
