Mercedes-Benz UK releasing the pricing details for the AMG GT sports car ahead of the car’s launch in Britain in April 2015. Available as Mercedes AMG GT, GT S, and GT S Edition 1, this 911-rival starts from £97,195.

That means the base Mercedes AMG GT with its 462 hp 4.0 liter V8 engine is pitted against the Carrera 2S, while the 510 hp GT S variant takes on the higher-end models such as C4S and Turbo. The AMG GT S and Edition 1 start from £110,495 and £122,745 respectively.

As for the options and equipment, every GT comes with 19 inch wheels, limited slip differential, a switchable AMG performance exhaust, COMAND Online (complete with an 8.4-inch screen), AMG sports suspension and an adjustable electronic rear wing. The GT S meanwhile adds 20 inch rear wheels, red brake callipers clamping enlarged discs, an electronically-controlled rear differential, and AMG RIDE CONTROL sports suspension with three selectable modes.

Mercedes AMG GT Edition 1 is for those to whom luxury and convenience is more important than driving and performance. This one is loaded with features, most of which you can do without. The list includes fixed rear wing and accompanying deep front splitter, silver rims, a carbon roof, a set of black mirror surrounds with matching window surrounds and rear diffuser and black exhaust tips, leather and suede finish for the special AMG performance seats and the steering wheel and a centre console in ‘Black Diamond’ textured finish, all topped off with red stitching.
