Jaguar dropped a whole bunch of new variants of the F-Type sports car at the Los Angeles Auto Show, taking a major step toward their goal of a 14-strong lineup. The highlight of the group is the Jaguar F-Type Manual which is only available as a rear-wheel drive supercharged V6 model.
Choosing the right F-Type is the devil’s own job now, as you have the Convertible now has a new R variant powered by the 550 horsepower engine of the F-Type R Coupe, while the Coupe itself gets an AWD variant which is the fastest car of the lot, with 0-60mph in 3.9 seconds and a limited top speed of 186mph.
It all seems hella confusing, but it isn’t. We are fairly familiar with all the variants of the F-Type and we can tell you that if you cant pure driving pleasure, forget the big V8s and go for the supercharged V6 with the new manual gearbox. If on the other hand speed is your remedy, any of the R versions will do you good. And do go near the AWD unless you live in an Scandinavian country!
2016 Jaguar F-Type also benefits from a number of upgrades, chief among which there is the Electric Power Assisted Steering, Torque Vectoring by Braking, Sport Design Packs for Coupé and Convertible models (standard on R), and InControl Touch and InControl Touch Plus infotainment systems.
