A while ago Porsche announced a contest in which fans where asked to come up with a unique design for the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup Patrick Dempsey will drive in the GT3 Cup Challenge. This is the winning design, apparently inspired by the actor’s fingerprint!

Best known for his role in Grey’s Anatomy, Patrick Dempsey is an accomplished racing driver and a huge Porsche enthusiast. Whenever he’s not in front the camera shooting soap operas, you find him on the race track swapping paint with other drivers. The Porsche 911 GT3 Cup he drives in this series is by no means the most serious race car he’s ever driven.

The livery on Dempsey’s 911 GT3 Cup is designed by Porsche fan Julia and it looks like a giant fingerprint as if somebody’s been trying to crush the car with their thumb.

The latest Porsche 911 GT3 Cup is based on the 991 series, powered by a 3.8-litre six-cylinder flat engine with 460 hp. A six-speed dog-type gearbox developed by Porsche Motorsport which is operated via shift paddles at the steering wheel for the first time in a Porsche brand trophy race car transmits the power to the rear axle.
