Austrian bike maker KTM in partnership with Reiter Engineering is planning on introducing a new version of their X-Bow track car. The new KTM X-Bow GT4 is going to be substantially different from its predecessor, on the evidence of the teaser the manufacturer has released.

The KTM X-Bow GT4 will be more car-like than the previous model. You get proper bumpers and aero parts, and above all, a closed cockpit that protects you from outside weather. It took KTM a long time to realize not having a roof and windscreen in a car is just stupid.

The GT4 is still not what you call a looker, what with that rather unique face it has and all the aerodynamic consideration it requires to work as a track car. Mechanically though, the car is going to be rather brilliant. KTM has a wealth of experience from the previous X-Bow model which they will combine in the new model with a 2.0 liter, 320 horsepower turbo engine and a six-speed sequential gearbox to offer a fantastic track toy.

Do not expect the KTM X-Bow GT4 to suddenly become all cozy and comfortable, but hopefully it will have a more fathomable starting procedure.
