Mercedes CLA Shooting Brake live 0 600x385 at Mercedes CLA Shooting Brake Looks Good in Live Pictures

The all-new Mercedes CLA Shooting Brake made its web debut a few days ago and it received a warm welcome from the press. But nobody has yet seen the car in the flesh. For that we have to wait for the 2014 Detroit Auto Show in January.

But here’s some live photos of the Mercedes CLA Shooting Brake captured at Mercedes-Benz factory to keep you amused until then. The CLASB is shown here in normal and AMG guises, with the latter looking surprisingly sporty, what with the black wheels and red accents. It kind of looks like a training shoe!

Mechanically, the CLA Shooting Brake is nothing new. It is based on the CLA four-door coupe, itself built upon the chassis and running gear of the A-Class. It is the design that sets this model apart. What you see here started out as a hatchback, was then morphed into a four-door coupe, and has now been given a large rear hatch, turning it into a shooting brake – a fancy and svelte wagon, if you will.

The engine lineup is also the same, with a large number of diesels and petrols, details of which we have covered before. The CLA 45 AMG gets the most interesting setup with a 360-hp four-pot turbo, a 7-speed Speedshift gearbox, and 4MATIC all-wheel-drive.
