Not to be outdone by Toyota and their new Business edition RAV4, Mitsubishi decided to release a high-spec SUV themselves in form of the Outlander PHEV. They are adding the hybrid capability to the mix to gain advantage, but the whopping £44,999 price tag kind of ruins that.

The new Mitsubishi Outlander Hybrid, available in GX5h and GX5hs models, do come with an awful lot of equipment though, and they can be had with easy financing. What’s more, the hybrid powertrain in this model emits just 44g/km of CO2 and has a combined fuel consumption figure of 148mpg. You get some of your money back just using the vehicle (low fuel costs and tax exemptions).

As for the features and equipment, the Mitsubishi Outlander Hybrid model come with high-line Nappa leather seats, dash, door and console lining in three fancy colors; high-end audio system; Floor level, front and rear mood lighting; heated seats; and USB connectivity. Those are in addition to the exterior mods, which include integrated side steps; rear spoiler; chrome detailing; DRL lights; and fancy badges.

Everything about the new hybrid Outlander is pretty good and desirable. But still, there is no getting away from the fact that it costs more than a range-topping Range Rover Evoque.
