Taking a break from promoting the RC F and hoping that it will drive away some of BMW M4’s  customers from the German hotshot, Lexus has now introduced a new high-performance sedan based on the popular GS. The 2016 Lexus GS F is a four-door sports sedan packing 467 hp.

The engine in the Lexus GS F is the same 5.0 liter naturally-aspirated V8 unit they use in the RC F. Lexus is rightfully very proud of this engine, which makes 467 hp (473 PS ) and peak torque of 389 lb.-ft. (527 Nm), and comes only with an eight-speed automatic gearbox with manual-shifting capabilities.

The Lexus GS F is a very sophisticated hotrod though, boasting features like Torque Vectoring Differential (TVD) and three driving modes including Standard (default), Slalom (sharper steering ratio) and Track (full-on attack mode). The unibody sedan also has sport-tuned chassis, 19-inch wheels, high-performance tires, and uprated brakes. Performance-figures are yet to be revealed for the GS F.

As for the visual features, Lexus admits the GS F looks kind of similar to the less hot but still very brilliant GS 350 F Sport. That is not to say it looks bad. Granted, that ginormous spindle grille is still highly controversial, but judging by the public’s reaction to it and the sales numbers, it does qualify as a success.
