At the Chicago Auto Show Dodge announced the launch of the new 2015 Challenger Shaker lineup including a number of models that celebrate, well, a hood. The Shaker hood has been providing cold air for the firm’s high-performance V8s for over 45 years.
The 2015 Dodge Challenger Shaker family is led by the R/T Shaker, featuring a functional Shaker hood with cold-air induction and Mopar conical air filter on its 5.7 liter HEMI V8, delivering 375 horsepower and 410 lb.-ft. of torque for just $35,495, which makes it the performance bargain of the century. Next up we have the 2015 Challenger R/T Plus Shaker which at $38,495 is a tad more expensive, but adds heated and ventilated Nappa leather performance seats with “Shaker” logo stitched in Black and Ruby Red, or Black and Sepia; unique door bolsters with graduated accent stitching, premium floor mats with “Dodge” logo, Dodge Performance leather-wrapped steering wheel with power tilt-and-telescoping column, Uconnect 8.4-inch, premium sound system, and matte black 20-inch wheels.
Last but not least is the Dodge Challenger Shaker 392 HEMI Scat Pack Shaker boasting 485 horsepower and 475 lb.-ft. of torque. The $42,495 model features serious performance upgrades including shaker hood with engine-mounted high-flow cold-air induction, Tremec six-speed manual transmission, active stainless steel performance dual exhaust system and 220-amp alternator, and Super Track Pak suspension and Brembo brakes.
