Bin Sulayem’s Mercedes CLK GTR Spotted in Dubai

Mohammed bin Sulayem is a former Middle East rally champion and one of the biggest petrolheads in the United Arab Emirates, and possibly the world. He has a vast collection of hyper cars, including a very rare Mercedes CLK GTR, featured in many motor shows and TV programs.

That Mercedes CLK GTR was recently spotted out and about in Dubai with the Sheikh behind the wheel. Traveling in company of a blacked-out Rolls-Royce Phantom, Sulayem’s CLK GTR looks even cooler, mostly because of the contrast between the characters of these two cars.

One of only 25 in the whole word, this Mercedes CLK GTR is powered by a 600 horsepower V12 AMG engine. If you are not pedantic, you could say this car is the grand daddy of the Pagani Zonda, since they share the same basic engine, and they are both crazy supercars designed mainly to look cool and to go fast.

There is, of course, more to the Mercedes CLK GTR than just the show-off factor, as it was the road-going version of the Mercedes CLR LMP1 Le Mans racer, the star of one of the most spectacular crashes in the history of motorsport.
