The handover ceremony for the very first Nissan GT-R Nismo in the United Kingdom is an excuse for us to have another look at this magnificent driving machine. GT-R Nismo is a rare limited edition model – with only 24 units coming to the UK, each costing £125,000 – so it is not something you see everyday.

Compared to the standard Godzilla, the Nissan GT-R Nismo comes with revised bumpers, a massive carbon fiber aero kit featuring red garnish, exclusive gloss black RAYS wheels, and Nismo badges. Inside, even though this model is a hard-core, track-focused model, you still get some leather on the dash and some Alcantara on the steering wheel. But do not expect much refinement.

The real beauty of Nissan GT-R Nismo lies beneath that not-so-beautiful skin. There you find super clever electronics, Bilstein DampTronic dampers on all four corners, thicker anti roll bars, and, oh yes, a modified 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged V6 which delivers 600PS (441kw) and 481 lb ft (652 Nm) of torque. The extra oomph and those subtle revisions work wonders with the GT-R, enabling it to lap the Nurburgring in 7:08.679.
