As promised, Mazda previewed a series of exclusive optional extras for the new MX-5 sports car at the Chicago Auto Show in form of Mazda MX-5 Accessories Design Concept. The main features showcased by this concept include Aero Kit, BBS Wheels, Brembo Brakes and a Luggage Rack.

The Aero Kit on the Mazda MX-5 Accessories Concept consists of front air dam, side sill extensions, rear bumper skirt and rear lip spoiler. Finished in gloss black, these are the same elements found on the 2016 MX-5 Global Cup Car, so they are not just for show.

In the wheel department, we have the 17-inch forged black BBS wheels wrapped in 205/45R17 tires, housing behind them the Brembo front brakes with red brake calipers on all four corners. Again, these serve as both a styling element and also a performance upgrade.

Last but not least, there is a luggage rack which is made of carbon fiber and weighs less than two pounds. It mounts on the trunk and includes an integrated Center High Mount Stop Lamp (CHMSL).

Mazda MX-5 Accessories Concept is powered by 2.0-liter SKYACTIV-G inline four-cylinder engine with 155 horsepower and 148 lb-ft of torque. It can be ordered with six-speed manual or automatic transmissions.
