Finally Mercedes-Benz has mustered enough courage to engage the Porsche 911 directly in its face. Before this they would just drop hints here and there that their new Mercedes AMG GT is a better sports car than the mighty 911. But this time they are actually saying it outright.

Here in this “Dream Car” spot we see a Mercedes AMG GT stalking a Porsche 911 for a bit before making its move and overtaking it, disturbing a child in the process. OK, that last bit sounded a bit weird, but you get it when you watch the clip:

The AMG GT is a rival for the Porsche 911 in the sense that it offers a light and agile rear-wheel-drive sports car with loads of power, a cool design, and tons of features. That has been the 911’s territory for that past 50 years, but Mercedes reckons they finally have a weapon in their arsenal strong enough to end the peaceful reign of the great Porsche.
