Every year an American firm emerged from the dark, announcing some wildly ambitious hyper car project, and then they vanish into thin air. This year, and at the New York Auto Show, this role will be played by Lyon Motors who is going to unveil the Lyons LM2 Streamliner with 1,700 horsepower!
As is often the case with projects like this, the specs of the car in question is more like a wish list the manufacturer likes to achieve, but never can.
For the Lyons LM2 Streamliner, which is pitched as a “high-end luxury super car that’s a game changer in the world Bespoke Automobile,” the wish list includes a V8 bi-turbo engine with 1,700 horsepower and 2,180 Nm (1,610 lb-ft) of torque, lightweight carbon fiber body, 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, and a weird but apparently aerodynamic design.
Performance-wise, and seeing as Lyons LM2 Streamliner wants to compete with the likes of Bugatti, Pagani, Ferrari, and…, the numbers they have dreamed up for the car are truly amazing. They 0 to 60 mph takes 2.2 seconds and 0 to 100 mph (160 km/h) only 4.1 seconds.
As always, let’s give these guys the benefit of the doubt. We hope to see this thing in the real world, but we reserve the right to mock them if it turns out to be nothing more than a flight of fancy.
