The new 2016 Nissan Maxima is one of those cars that is just plain good. Just like its ancestors, the new version of the Japanese sedan offers great value, decent power, and perfect convenience to those who just want a reliable car for getting about and aren’t bothered about the badge, styling, or handling.
But that doesn’t mean the Maxima is not a talentless thing that is only good at one thing and that’s being an average family sedan. Here we see the car turned into a rather good-looking coupe and a pretty interesting station wagon by skilled rendering artists. And they are both ideas worth considering by the manufacturer.
Granted, the Coupe might be a bit of a stretch for a car like this – even though it is the better looking of the two renders here – but 2016 Nissan Maxima could spawn a wagon version. In fact, a lot of people might appreciate a wagon version because it enhances the practicality of the car thus increasing its value for the customer. This is, after all, a family car.
We quite like the look of the Maxima Coupe, but as mentioned it would hard making a business case for it. Coupes are all about the lineage and street cred, which make the Maxima a bad candidate for such a treatment. Come to think of it though, it could make a pretty awesome Shooting Brake!
