Aston Martin revealed details and pictures of their lineup for the Shanghai International Motor show, and although there isn’t anything in there we haven’t seen before, it is still a magnificent group worth a closer inspection. The lineup includes two extremely hot new Astons, the Lagonda Taraf and the DBX Concept.

Aston Martin Lagonda Taraf was conceived as a limited-run special edition model for the Middle East. The company’s top brass simply didn’t think the Europeans would go for a re-bodied Rapide S that costs twice as much. But the Taraf received such a warm welcome from the public and press alike that they decided to offer the car globally. It will still be produced in limited numbers though. It might be a Rapide underneath, but the new Lagonda sure looks exquisite enough to help you gloss over that fact.

Also at Shanghai we have the Aston Martin DBX Concept, which is a crossover sort of car designed for optimum comfort and convenience, and also because Aston wants a piece of this lucrative market. The design of the DBX has been met with mixed reactions, but nobody can really dislike the idea of a crossover Aston, because what’t not to like.

Other highlights of Aston’s booth at Auto Shanghai 2015 include the Vanquish Carbon, a Bespoke Vantage V8 and a custom Rapide S by Q.

“The China auto show debuts of the DBX Concept and Lagonda Taraf at Auto Shanghai 2015 are a clear signal that China is an increasingly significant market for Aston Martin,” said Mr. Michael Peng, President of Aston Martin China. “In the second century, we will continue to place a high importance on China and its growing number of discerning luxury sports car enthusiasts.  We have stable and long-term relationships with our China dealer partners who represent the brand in 15 key cities on the Mainland, and we will work with these partners to continue to deliver first-class services to our valued Chinese customers.”
