Only a handful of tuners have so far announced their intention to upgrade the new Mercedes AMG GT sports car. German firm Posaidon, however, has already come up with a program and it’s a good one too. Posaidon Mercedes AMG GT delivers 630 horsepower.

The tuner hasn’t revealed details of the work they do on the GT’s 4.0 liter bi-turbo V8 engine, but somehow they manage to upgrade the power output from the standard 510 PS and 650 Nm of torque to 630 Ps with 725 Nm. Part of it is of course down to a new ECU software which also eliminates any top speed limiter that might be in the way and takes the car all the way to 337 km/h. We reckon Posaidon Mercedes AMG GT is equipped with a custom exhaust system as well.

Since the engine in Posaidon Mercedes AMG GT is exactly the same unit you find in the latest Mercedes C63 AMG, the tuner decided to make this a double and announced a program for the sports sedan as well. For the C63 they have dialed things back a bit, setting the output at 610 PS and 800 Nm of torque which is enough for a top speed of around 328 km/h. Both cars also benefit from goodies such as sport suspension and super sport wheels.

Bigger and better upgrades are in the works for the AMG 4.0 liter bi-turbo V8 with fancier exhaust system, beefier software, and larger turbochargers. So stay tuned.
