Startech Range Rover Pickup Is Confusing!

Brabus subsidiary Startech has come up with a new idea for improving the Range Rover. They have already done the body kit thing for this model, so this time they decided to modify the body style itself and that resulted in the Startech Range Rover Pickup.

If they absolutely had to take bits off of the Range Rover, we’d go for the roof and make a convertible SUV. But apparently that was a lot of work, and anyway, the world seems to be in a pickup truck phase right now. Everybody wants one of those because they think a pickup truck will make them look cool.

Startech Range Rover Pickup is not cool though. It is confusing. On the one hand we quite like the idea of a Range Rover pickup truck, while on the other, we find it looks ungainly and really rather ridiculous. What’s more, that little bed at the back offers enough space only for a picnic basket, or a medium-sized dog.

The tuner has gone all out on the rest of the vehicle though, fitting it with a full body kit, interior, and engine package. The wide body kit on the Startech Range Rover Pickup is complemented with 23-inch forged wheels and an interior kit consisting of leather, Alcantara and carbon fiber elements, while the supercharged V8 engine is fitted with a power module to deliver 530 PS which means the car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.3 seconds.

Startech Range Rover Pickup will debut at the 2015 Auto Shanghai show. Pricing and production numbers are TBD.
