Toyota GT86’s American cousin, the Scion FR-S, has been given a mild updated for its new modelyear; updates that have nothing to do with the performance, even though that’s what this car is all about. 2016 Scion FR-S gets new colors, interior enhancements, and some new equipment.

To be launched in June, the 2016 Scion FR-S will be available with a couple of new colors including a new red called Ablaze and a new blue called Oceanic. That’s about it for the exterior. Everything else will remain unchanged, including those ghastly wheels.

They have been more busy inside the cabin, giving it a much needed revision which results in a more premium look and feel. The new FR-S comes with bright silver interior accents on the steering wheel bezel, shift bezel, door grip, and along the sides of the center console. It also gets a large 7-inch touch-screen display and voice recognition technology, plus a rear-view backup camera.

The 2016 Scion FR-S also sports new price tags for both manual and automatic models. The six-speed manual starts from $25,305 and the six-speed sequential automatic transmission with paddle shifters and Dynamic Rev Management technology from $26,405. Both also demand a $770 destination charge.
