Everybody knows about the drawbacks of diesel engines, but only a few ever talk about its advantages. BMW specialist G-Power has recently developed a taste for these engines and has come up with a kit to show their enthusiasm. G-Power BMW 435d xDrive is what an M4 diesel would have been like, if such a thing existed.

Now, G-Power is a tuner with immense capabilities. They have the technical know-how to fit a M3 with the V10 engine of an old M5 and then go set a world speed record with it. So it is not a surprise that they have managed to extract an extra 67 hp and 125 Nm out of the straight-six turbodiesel engine in the 435d through electronics manipulation alone. The engine now produces 380 hp (279 kW) and 755 Nm.

That is still not on the par with what you get from the real M4. But still, G-Power BMW 435d is torquier than the petrol-powered car, it costs less, and it doesn’t look as chintzy. Speaking of the looks, G-Power offers a set of 20″ G-POWER HURRICANE RR wheels for this car which, as you can see in the pictures, suits it rather well. So yes, this car would be our choice over the M4 if we were in the market for a high-performance 4 Series.
