Rumor has it the next sports car to come out of McLaren factory Woking, UK, will be a new member of the Sports Series family boasting totally different specs than their other products. The new McLaren Sports Series is said to be more of a GT car with the engine in the front and big boot at the back.

These are all speculations, mind you, but the idea of a front-engined, GT McLaren Sports Series does make a lot of sense. Whereas athletes and musicians are into Bugattis and Lamborghinis, most McLaren customers these days are successful businessmen. And what all successful businessmen do in their free time? That’s right, they play golf. So McLaren might be tempted to come up with a model that would cater to the needs of these guys.

Based on everything that was mentioned above, designer Jon Sibal has come up with this quick rendering of the car to give us an idea what it might look like. The GT-oriented McLaren Sports Series will be followed by another, more sporty Sports Series car, most likely a Porsche-rivaling lightweight speed machine slotting below the recently launched 570. McLaren has already proved, three times, that they know their market and all their moves are carefully calculated for success.
