Infiniti’s first offering for this year’s Pebble Beach Concours de’Elegance is a rather unglamorous thing. The 2016 Infiniti Q70 Premium Select is basically a new trim level for the flagship sedan, featuring a handful of upgrades over standard models.

Infiniti, of course, deems the car fancy enough to be introduced to the public at an event such Pebble Beach Concours. They appear to be startled by what resulted after they equipped a long wheelbase Q70 with dark chrome trim, a darkened lower rear bumper, a rear decklid spoiler and unique design and color 20-inch aluminum-alloy wheels. An uninterested onlooker will not even notice these changes.

In fairness, that is all you get with the Infiniti Q70 Premium Select. The car also comes with unique Graphite or Stone semi-aniline leather seating, suede-like headliner, aluminum interior trim, illuminated kickplates and floor mats with contrasting piping. These features give the Select Q70 an air of luxuriousness and exclusivity inside the cabin that is rare in this price range.
