Motor Trend’s Jonny Lieberman, who has an affinity for fast, compact sedans, recently took out the hottest contenders in this segment, Cadillac ATS-V and Mercedes C63 AMG, for a thorough test. And just spice things up a bit, he also brought along the current king of the hill, BMW M3.

Cadillac ATS-V of this test is powered by a twin-turbo V6 engine which makes it a closer to the M3 with its also forced-fed straight-six engine. The Mercedes packs a weapons-grade 4. 0 liter bi-turbo V8 which makes a LOT of power. But power is only one part of the equation here, and not the most important.
