Can’t wait for the new Mercedes S-Class Cabrio to be launched? Don’t despair. There is another open-top, four-seater, fast and luxurious Mercedes-Benz you can buy right now. Admittedly, VATH Mercedes E500 Cabrio isn’t as fancy as the S-Class. But it’s quicker.

You see, the new S-Cabrio, even in its high-performance AMG version, is limited to 250 km/h. VATH Mercedes E500 Cabrio can do 300, thanks to a chip modification that costs 1,890 euro. Mind you, to achieve that speed you first have to order the supercharger with intercooler and rear silencer package, which runs for 10,591 euro. That’s the bad news. The good news is, it gives you access to 550 horsepower and 830 Nm of torque.

To help the car cope with the added oomph, the tuner has fitted VATH Mercedes E500 Cabrio with a set of powerful brake discs (390mm) and 6-piston brake callipers that cost 5,355 euro, 618 euro lowering springs, and a set of 20-inch lightweight wheels with high—performance rubber. Contributing to both styling and aerodynamics are a number of carbon fiber parts including carbon rear diffuser, with new tailpipes integrated in it, and a boot lid spoiler. Various other accessories, including carbon interior trim, sports steering wheel and aluminium pedals are also available.
