For those who may find the standard Mercedes AMG GT a bit dull to look at, the company created the Edition 1 styling package consisting of spoilers and splitters and stuff. But that apparently wasn’t enough for the owner of this AMG GT, as he has also fitted it with a pair of racing stripes.
Now, stripes usually have some sort of historical significance. They are usually borrowed from the racing version of the car they are applied to, or contribute to the overall design, as is often the case with Ferrari models. The stripes on this Mercedes AMG GT S, however, well, they look like an afterthought to be honest. And they look really aftermarket as well.
We can’t help but think that if the stripes on this bad boy were a bit thinner and matte black only without white lips, they would look a lot better. But they are, we’re not sure they are doing the looks of the AMG GT any favors. We do however dig the racing paraphernalia of the Edition 1 kit, what with the big wing and chunky front spoiler.
Powered by a 510 horsepower twin-turbo V8 engine, Mercedes AMG GT S has already had such a big effect on the high-end sports car market, Porsche decided they need to turbocharge the Carrera models just to keep up.
