Porsche 918 Martini Acceleration Runs

More awesome footage from 2015 Shift-S3ctor California Airstrip Attack, where a few days ago we saw a tasty looking Porsche 991 GT3 RS showing off its launch control. It is not the turn of that car’s big brother to teach the new kid who’s the boss. The Porsche 918 Martini here does a few launch control acceleration runs and it sounds amazing doing it.

The combination of a powerful RS V8 engine, torquey electric motor, one of the most sophisticated four-wheel-drive systems in the world, and those huge tires make for a blisteringly fast acceleration. Porsche 918 Martini also recorded a top speed of 173 mph at the end of the half-mile course which is mighty impressive.

We should also make special mention of that superb Martini racing livery on this car which is a very expensive factory option. We have seen it before on a white 918, but we have to admit it looks a lot more classy paired with black, complete with the Weissach aero kit and those psychedelic 918 wheels.
