The internet’s favorite motoring journalist Chris Harris is on a roll these days, scoring a job as a Top Gear presenter and now an official motorsport gig. Harris will race throughout the 2016 season for Bentley Team Parker Racing in the Blancpain Endurance Series Cup.

Back when Chris Harris used to switch jobs often, going from Driver’s Republic to Autocar to Evo, to Drive, and then going independent for a while, one would think this guy isn’t very stable and can’t hold on to a job for long. But whatever Chris’s strategy was, it has placed him at the top of the auto world now, so those must have been the right move.

In the Blancpain Endurance Series Harris will be piloting a Bentley Continental GT3 with Bentley Team Parker Racing. And it’s like he’s going to be on the bench all the time, getting wheel time only when one of the main drivers becomes incapacitated. They are putting him behind the wheel from the get go, starting at Monza this weekend.

“This is a bit of a pinch yourself moment,” he commented. “If, last year, you’d asked me what my dream 2016 race season would be it would have involved a Bentley Continental GT3, Stuart Parker and my good friend and long-time team mate Chris Cooper. And now it’s happened!”
