For as long as we can remember, BMW has been celebrating its 100th anniversary. This is the kind of celebration that apparently never ends. And it gets confusing because these days they are also celebrating the 30th anniversary of the M3. At any rate, they have just put out BMW M6 Celebration Edition for the occasion.
Looks good, right? Don’t get to excited though, because BMW M6 Celebration Edition is a limited edition made only for Japan. That is BMW’s way. To maintain exclusivity, the celebratory models are market specific, and even then production numbers are extremely limited. In the case of this M6 the production number is just 13.
That means BMW can ask whatever they want for it, and since BMW customers are, before anything else, suckers for the badge, they are going to sell all BMW M6 Celebration Edition models in a matter of minutes. It’s a good thing then this model comes with the Competition Package, so the buyers are not getting completely screwed. The pack ups the output to 600 horsepower, reduces the 0-100 km/h time to 3.9 seconds, ups the top speed to 305 km/h and adds a couple of extras to the options list.
The main features of M6 Celebration in terms of extra features include dark-finished kidney grilles and exterior accents, carbon aero parts, 20-inch M wheels in black, Merino black leather interior with carbon fiber trim package and a kicking Bang & Olufsen audio system.
