X-Tomi Design is known to be quick with his pen, or rather computer mouse, as he always comes up with renderings of future variants of new model a few hours after they are introduced. The rendering he wants to show you this time depicts the next Kia Rio GT, the hot version of the family hatchback that is yet to makes its debut at the upcoming Paris Motor Show.

To design the new Kia Rio GT Tomi has drawn inspiration from existing hotted-up Kias, namely the Pro Ceed models. You can see the influence in the shape of the front bumper with its large air intakes and gloss black trims and the square fog lamps which have become sort of Kia’s signature design element for their sporty models. The designer has also employed lower ride height, new skirts, and a set of large and sporty wheels.

It is way too soon to start speculating on the sort of engine the hot version of the new Rio will pack, seeing as they haven’t even confirmed the engine lineup for the regular model. But if we were to have it a guess, we’d say the 2018 Kia Rio GT would boast a 1.6 liter turbocharged engine with around 200 horsepower, a dual-clutch gearbox, and a sporty traction control system. Stuff like trick front differential or Brembo brakes are still way above this car’s pay grade.
