Like an iPhone that stays largely the same design-wise but each year introduces new technical features, the Nissan GT-R roars into 2017 with a new hard-core model that looks pretty much the same as the first one but boasts some serious technical beef. This is the 2017 Nissan GT-R Track Edition.

And it’s now available to order in Britain for the hefty sum of £91,995 with the first deliveries expected in early November. According to the manufacturer, Nissan GT-R Track Edition is a few degrees less hot than the range-topping NISMO model and is more focused on performance, as if the regular GT-R is the last word in comfort and refinement.

At any rate, the main highlights of the Track Edition GT-R include bespoke Bilstein Damptronic suspension, lightweight anti-roll bar, NISMO Racing Black forged 20-inch aluminium wheels wider front, and, depending on the market, carbon-backed Recaro seats and a carbon rear spoiler. Engine-wise, you get the same 3.8-litre twin-turbo V6 developing 570PS and 637Nm of torque.

While Nissan GT-R Track Edition is launching in the UK, the American market is welcoming its 600 horsepower NISMO brother. That heavily tuned model hits the States with an MSRP of $174,990 before adding the $1,595 destination charge.
