ABT Sportsline is one of the few tuners who have a unique style of their own in that you can always tell a car is ABT looking at its visual features. Too bad they only work on VW Group vehicles. Anyway, here’s their latest product, the ABT VW Tiguan, and while it looks completely badass doesn’t really have the oomph to back up those looks.

ABT VW Tiguan does come with a number of power kits for its petrol and diesel engines, but we’re afraid they are all mild tweaks that enhance the responsiveness of the vehicle without really making a big difference in the way it goes. You have the ABT POWER kit for the 2.0 liter diesel engine which comes in two versions packing 180 hp (132 kW) and 380 Nm or 215 hp (158 kW) and 440 Nm, or you can go for the 2.0 TSI petrol engine which gets 216 hp and 360 Nm of torque.

The power kits you can live without, but it is highly recommended to get the wheels and the suspension treatment that comes with the ABT VW Tiguan because they work wonders with the styling of this mid-size crossover. Just by a lowering of approximately 30 mm and a set of designer FR, ER-C, DR and CR wheels available in sizes 18, 19, 20 or 21 inch ABT has managed to enhance the looks of the Tiguan, giving it a lot more attitude. If only it had like 300 horsepower…
