The demand for personalized cars has reached the very edge of the market and even a car maker like Caterham, famous for presenting their products in kit form, has to have a bespoke program to keep up. They have responded by launching Caterham Signature personalization program, and came up with a special edition called Caterham Seven Harrods to mark it.

As the name suggests, Caterham Seven Harrods is designed by world-famous department store, Harrods. And like anything in and around Harrods, it has a ridiculous price tag. This Caterham, which is a 420S with a bit of mascara, costs £59,999. They justify it by reminding you that it’s a car you buy not because you need it, but because you want it.

As for the special highlights of Caterham Seven Harrods, the car comes in Harrods green, with a custom white stripe and gold pinstripe while, and a gold power-coated chassis. Inside the cockpit, the butterscotch leather upholstery also reflects Harrods’ colour scheme, while the store name is embroidered on the seat backs and the Harrods ‘H’ adorns the gear knob.

All of these features – paint colours and designs, dashboard and interior styling, embroidery and even the colour of the chassis – can be customized in other Caterham cars as well thanks to the new personalization program.
