Making fast and discreet sports sedans is something VW has always been fairly good at. Now at this year’s Los Angeles Auto Show the company’s North American branch is trying their hand at making such a thing with the Volkswagen Passat GT which will make its show debut in concept form.

They call it a concept probably because they have no intention of actually selling a hot version of this model, but the fact is there is nothing too concept-y about the Volkswagen Passat GT. It’s a hotted up Passat boasting a 280 horsepower VR6 engine, a body kit, four large wheels, and some red accents.

Visually, the Passat GT has an aggressive Golf GTI-like style featuring black honeycomb grille insert with red accent lines, unique bumper treatments, black window surrounds, a black roof and trunk spoiler, LED headlights, smoked taillights, a dual trapezoidal exhaust and a sport muffler. What’s more, the ride height’s been dropped and a set of 19-inch Tornado wheels have been installed over red brake calipers. Inside, you will find carbon-fiber pattern door trim and instrument panel, two-tone black-and-gray sport seats with contrast stitching, a black headliner and piano black center console trim.

So if you like this Volkswagen Passat GT you don’t have to wait for VW to decide whether they want to make it or not. Any average tuner can turn a regular Passat into something like this. And as for the 3.6-liter TSI VR6 engine, you can easily find a good stock unit through parts suppliers.
